Special Event - Guest Star Ben Lawry

SPECIAL EVENT GUEST STAR APPEARANCE

FRIDAY 8/28

Forward Stroke/Core Paddling with
Ben Lawry (SEC)

Ben will be joining Sea Sherpa Kayak in delivering a full day course that is definitely worth calling in sick for. His international coaching and racing credentials are too lengthy to list here, but he is known as an instructor's instructor and a true water god.

Check out his website at www.benlawry.net.

This course is geared towards folks with advanced beginner/intermediate paddle skills and is guaranteed to kick you way up into the next level. The day will focus on tapping into your core strength allowing you to paddle faster, further and just plain better. The first half of the day will be spent exclusively on the Forward Stroke which is the most underestimated of all strokes.

"99% of your time is spent paddling forward, yet it is rarely talked about or taught" in detail.

"Efficiency and correct body use are the keys here to keep you paddling for hours at a time with ease and grace".

The second part of the day will be all about tweaking your overall strokes for maximum efficiency. We know of paddlers (Gerry included) that have taken these classes from Ben multiple times. With so much new material discovered each time, they keep coming back for more. The finer points of rotation, edging, blade finesse and tapping into your big muscle groups will all be hammered home.
